Welcome to B.L.A.S.T., the Bowen Land And Sea Taxi service.
We are a family owned and operated business that believes in the importance of keeping Bowen Island connected to Vancouver.
By safely taxiing islanders to your city jobs and back home again, we help you maintain your quality of island life. To our visiting tourists and friends we offer you a fast, safe and affordable way to visit Bowen and explore all that our beautiful island has to offer.
In October 2009, we launched our sea taxi service from Bowen Island to Granville Island. During the Olympics of 2010, we expanded by adding a second route from Snug Cove to Coal Harbor.
2016 was a commemorative year for us as we expanded our fleet to include a land taxi on Bowen Island. We aim to ensure that islanders and visitors alike continue to receive our best customer service. We'll go that extra mile to make sure you arrive at your destination safely.
Our land taxi can take up to 6 passengers, while our sea vessels are certified by Transport Canada to transport up to 12 people.
On land, you can explore Bowen Island in our new air conditioned vehicle and visit several remote locations that are inaccessible by foot. Our local drivers are class 4 certified and can offer helpful tips and info on where to experience the best our island has to offer. Let us know which ferry you're on and we'll pick you up from the terminal dock just steps away from the ferry.
On our sea taxi, you can enjoy the fresh air and spectacular scenery on the aft deck, or keep warm inside the cabin. Our captains are specialized in marine rescue and highly experienced at sailing in all weather conditions. Their skills will ensure your trip to Bowen Island is safe and comfortable. Feel free to strike up a conversation with the skipper or fellow passenger for a wealth of island information.

Environmental Stewardship
We try to always use the most fuel-efficient vessels necessary for the trip. Please help us by booking your trip early enough for us to be able to plan for the capacity needs. We are also researching using bio-diesel and alternative fuels to help with fuel efficiency.
In April-May 2010 members of the English Bay Launch and Old School Marine team volunteered and went to Louisiana to help with the oil spill cleanup.
